Current News and Events for San Joaquin Valley Chapter
Advancing Productivity, Innovation,
and Competitive Success
I would like to start this Chapter update with some great news in terms of our rebranding efforts. We have crossed over the 300 follower threshold for our LinkedIn page, and we’re up and above 60 followers for our Twitter account – both exciting ideas since just 60 days ago our LinkedIn account had just over 100 followers, and we hadn’t yet been on Twitter. One of the great parts about our efforts to rejuvenate APICS in Central California is we’ve been able to act on ideas for change and implement them as feasibly as possible. One of these ideas originated from the question of “how can people reach us”. As mentioned above, we’ve expanded our LinkedIn presence and we’re sharing information on Twitter – but that’s not all. APICS San Joaquin Valley Chapter serves on the Fresno Chamber of Commerce Business Education Committee, is engaged with the local education community to focus on relevant, and career-based training. We’re continuing our mission to expand our reach in the business community to ensure that the APICS Body of Knowledge is prevalent in all Central California business.
To maintain consistency and support these efforts, we are excited to introduce four NEW email addresses that will link questions to Chapter officials. Starting June 1st, 2015 all correspondence from me will come from firstname.lastname@example.org all emails from Melanie Donovan our VP of Education will come from email@example.com all notes in regards to Finance can do to Paula Cooke at firstname.lastname@example.org and lastly, general inquiries and questions regarding the Chapter itself can go to our general inbox at email@example.com This email address will be monitored by our Website Guru, Dan Dieterich. There are two more Board Members that I would like to take the time to re-introduce as well. If you have any questions in regards to Membership, renewals, expirations, and other Member related inquiries, please contact Charles Fink, our Membership Coordinator. Lastly, our long serving VP of Education, John Newlyn, can be reached through the usual channels that most (more than most of us, probably) have already. Additionally, my and our Board’s contact information is available at our new website, www.apicssjvc.org Please take the moment to ensure that the emails mentioned above are on your “safe” list to ensure you continue to receive important information and news from the Chapter
Why are we taking the time to just mention things we’ve done – not things we’re going to do? I personally believe that the ability to be involved with your Chapter makes it a better Chapter. So, if you have questions, ideas, suggestions or thoughts on how we’re doing, or what you’d like to see I encourage to reach out to any one of us. Now, onto the things we’re doing. We’re currently enrolling for our Execution and Control of Operations (ECO) module. This module details the execution phase of operations while using planning techniques. Additionally, we’re also enrolling for the FIRST EVER CSCP Certification Review court starting Tuesday July 7th. This 16-week macro-level course covers the inner workings of Supply Chain and their effects on the Organization. Lastly, we are thrilled to announce that our next Professional Development Meeting / Networking Even will be held Tuesday June 30th at 559 Beer’s brand-new tasting room in Old Town Clovis. Co-Founder Rhett Williams will be joining us as he discusses expanding his own operations exponentially over the last three years. Tickets are only $35 and include appetizers, 4-5oz tasters to sample some of their either varieties of beer, one pint of your favorite brew, and a souvenir 559 Beer Pint Glass. We’re limited to 40 guests, so reserve your spot soon! RSVP’s can be done via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or via PayPal on the website, www.apicssjvc.org .
Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and as always, please send your feedback - we’re excited to be your Chapter!
